How much money can one make with Adsense?

Well, this is the fantastic thing. It really 100% depends on you, and what effort you put into this. I have seen people who are only making a few cents here and there for several months, but look at their sites and see why. Others are making between $75-$150 per month and growing and learning. I have seen all ranges, the highest so far being $20000-$25000 a month, granted that guy had a very nice website. So, it totally depends on you how much you want to earn?. Harder/ smarter you work, more you will earn.

This site is designed for the people out there who have never heard of Google Adsense. I never had heard of it, and I sure wish I had a long time ago. As long as you follow the terms of service, this is an excellent way to bump up your income, the potential to grow enough to supplement your income so you can work less, and eventually if you play your cards right, become your full income. This is not a get rich quick thing either. To be successful, it will take time and effort.

I have listed everything you need to do this. All the great information sources I find will be posted here. Step 8: All About KeyWords

What are keywords? When you type some thing in google search box, have you ever noticed that in search results some of the text is bold while other is normal. That bold letters are keywords in your search query. Google matches keywords in search query to keywords on the website. So basically keywords are the words in your site which will be looked onto by google while searching.Technically speaking , these are the tags that one can define inside the META TAG of the webpage. These tags are the definition of your website for search engines, so one should define them with care. Please see links below for "How to add keywords to your meta tags?"
Example, if I type FLOWER into my search, the first site that comes up is going to be the one that has FLOWER in the meta tag, and the word flower found various times throughout the article. Search engines are not people, so the use of proper key words in your tags and content is very important in search engine optimization for your site, allowing those searching for your particular topic to be guided to your site. Make sure you choose keywords RELEVANT to your topic. You want the traffic coming to your site to be those who are interested in your particular topic. Appropriate keywords are like a telephone number for your page, and when someone types in your "number" or keyword, your page shows up.
How to determine what keywords to use?Think about your content, and think of yourself as the person who will be searching, what would you type into a search? Review your website, and pick out words you use frequently. List these words and phrases as they will form the basis for optimizing your web pages so that they will rank higher on the search engines. The more specific your keywords the better. Remember that single word keywords will have a lot more competition for top ranking search results than phrases.
There are various free tools you can use to check your sites stats, keywords, ranking etc. In my links, the one 20 free analysis tools has some GREAT tools to help you optimize your site.
As I learn more, I will be adding more, and also, I am going to take all the really excellent tools I have found, and lists etc and put them all on one site, so you will only have to go there and everything you need will be there, its a work in progress.

Step 7: All about backlinks

What are Backlinks?
Basically backlink is a link to your website on another web page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node. Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

Why are they important?
Backlinks are important for a couple of reasons. For one thing, it will increase your traffic simply by having your link somewhere else for new traffic. More importantly, they improve your SEO immensely. The more good links you have to your site from reliable sites in good standing, the more important your site becomes. It improves your overall ranking on the search engines. Your ranking will determine where on the list of search results your site will fall when your topic is searched.

Quality of the links is very important, as some sites that google would consider "bad" can actually lower your ranking. You want your inbound links, or backlinks, to be from sites who's content is relevant to yours. The more relevant, the higher the ranking. You can find some more information on backlinks on webconfs.com, and their site is in my link list for reference. They have a great article on backlinks in more depth. See SEO Tools, this is an EXCELLENT site to learn everything about SEO, and what it does for you. I would suggest reading this site in its entirety to completely understand SEO.

"Search engines want websites to have a level playing field, and look for natural links built slowly over time. While it is fairly easy to manipulate links on a web page to try to achieve a higher ranking, it is a lot harder to influence a search engine with external backlinks from other websites. This is also a reason why backlinks factor in so highly into a search engine's algorithm. Lately, however, a search engine's criteria for quality inbound links has gotten even tougher, thanks to unscrupulous webmasters trying to achieve these inbound links by deceptive or sneaky techniques, such as with hidden links, or automatically generated pages whose sole purpose is to provide inbound links to websites. These pages are called link farms, and they are not only disregarded by search engines, but linking to a link farm could get your site banned entirely."

So the crux is DO NOT GET INVOLVED INTO FALSE PRACTICES. WORK HARD AND HAVE PATIENCE YOU WILL GET SURE RESULTS.

There is allot of talk about back linking and such, but basically, if you are honest about who you submit too, who you link to, and don't do things like try and link to everyone, buy traffic and other things that in my opinion "cheat" the whole process, you should be fine. Follow the rules. Be patient. You would rather see your backlinks develop over a period of time and allow your site to grow naturally, then have a fast starts that quickly fizzles, and leaves you a negative site
reputation.

Step 6: Increasing your traffic

Now, when you have a website ready, you have an adsense account and you have ads running on your website congratulations!!! You have won half battle. Now all you need to do is publicity of your website and drag as much as you can user to your website. This is most important part as these visitors are one, which will click your ads and ultimately earn money for you.

There are several things that you can do to increase traffic to your website. Try not get involved in false practices as paying someone to visit your site or any such thing. As these things will not give you long term results. If you want to get long term returns from your site, than try to be honest with this program and have patience.

You can pay for services to help you with this, but you don't have too. Everything is 100% free if you are ready to do a bit of search and use your mind. I have provided some excellent links to free submission sites to help.

First and foremost submit to google, yahoo and bing (or any search engine that comes yor way). I will explain this in further steps.

Submitting your URLs and RSS Feeds
You need to submit your site EVERYWHERE. There are some sites which can provide you what we say “MOTHER LIST”, a list having a lot of sites to submit your site.I have a link to one such mother link. This guy will submit for you at a cost, but all the sites are listed so you can manually do it yourself. There are over 900 of them, so it will be time consuming. I am starting with doing 10 a day, and working from there until I get through the list. You will find it under my links.

I have also included another great site with lists of places to submit your RSS feed, and RSS stands for really simple submission. It is labeled the RSS LINK LIST. There is also a huge list on that site specifically for submitting blogs.

When you are submitting your sites, be sure to submit them to the most relevant topic that your web page is about, and don’t just submit it to the top. Reason being that for one thing, you want people who are actually interested in your topic to find your site, and two, it just wastes yours and everyone else's time if its submitted in the wrong category. It will likely get on the search engines faster if you take the time to add it to the right category.

Be patient. It takes time for everything to get added and indexed. Don't expect to have 1000 unique visitors to your site right away. Also, you don't want your site to end up in the sandbox, which I will get into in another post. Just submit to 10-20 places a day, being sure to change your title and description wording slightly so you don't look like a spammer. It will take time to build your backlinks, and its better if you allow this to be a natural process rather then buying links, or traffic as this will risk you to get booted. Pinging your site, which basically lets those search engines know you have new content on your site, and sends a signal for the sites to crawl your site and find the new content. I have included a great pinging site, that once you enter your URL, you just visit and it will ping all 30 something sites for you.

Social Networking
Submitting your site is not enough. Plus, it takes time for all those places to get your information on their search engines. The best most effective way of getting it out there fast is joining forums, groups, sites, of people who are interested in the topic of your website. If you have put effort into you work, you should get allot of visitors. Also, you will learn more, the more you get out there. Don't just join sites and post your link, if you want good traffic, you will have to take the time to participate in the forums, and not be a spammer.

I have found a few very helpful Webmaster forums. Please remember, if you join these forums, allot of these people have put a ton of time and effort into their sites, education about the program, and will not help someone who is just looking for a free hand out of their valuable secrets in this industry. Participate in the forums, give feedback to others. READ AND LEARN! My favorite so far is DIGITAL POINT and BLOG ENGAGE I am a member of others, but haven't spent enough time on them yet to see how good they are. As I learn more about which forums are most helpful, I will add.

Search Engine Optimization
Please see my link Tools for reference. I have some very informative SEO links.

Use the tools provided to check your site. Many of them will show errors on your page that search engines will have trouble with, if your keywords are visible, or if you could add more. The first time I ran a tool I found out my keywords were not visible, so I fixed it, ran the test again, and found I could add way more keywords then I had. These tools help you fine tune your website so the search engines have an easier time finding and indexing your site. ALL THE TOOLS YOU NEED CAN BE FOUND AND USED FREE. There are sites out there that will charge a fee, but be aware, that all the tools you need are out there for free.

Step 5: Creating and placing your Ads

Once you have your Adsense account approved and you have you website / blog ready, you can create your ads from Adsense. All you need to do is login into Adsense with your credentials and click "create ads". There are a lot of options like leaderboard, banner, half banner etc , you can choose one that suits you website . Also you can change the colors etc for your ads. After you are done with creating your ads, You are given the choice in which size you want, colours, shape, etc.

First of all I will like to tell you the difference between Ad units and Link units:-
Ad units display direct ads, once a visitor clikcs one of the ad unit you get paid for it. While Link unit show link to the pages where ads are displayed, so in this case you will be paid when user click on link unit and then on ad on the page that opens up. So the question is why use link units? There are few reasons for that, most important is that they mingle well with site content and the second one is you can use 3 Link units per page.

Actually the limits are :-
(1). 3 Ad units per page
(2). 3 Link units per page
(3). 2 Custom search box.
(4). 1 Video ads.

Now how to place Ads in site/ blog so that it generates maximum revenue?
So one should understand that ads are what earn money for you. So you should be most careful while placing ads on your blogs / site .The best and smartest thing to do is be very smart about choosing the ad format and where you place your ads. I have done a lot of research on this issue, some say that it is best to place ads in left column because a right handed user tends to look left while playing with his mouse.I don't know if this is a fact, and you can place your ads where you want. One thing that I have learned so far, do not make your ads too catchy ( color , shape etc), make them look similar to your website other links and place your ads so that user can not avoid them. This can be done in many way ex: place your ads just below the most important links of your website. You can do a research of some color schemes and ad placement, but I will suggest do not get into this and follow your instinct.

In some website making / blogging sites you don't need to play with code even, they will provide you user interface and all you need to do is drag and drop.Like in blogspot, its just a click, you can create your adsense right there, colour, size and all. Others, you copy the ad code you recieve when you create it directly from your adsense account. One other site www.yola.com its just a drag and drop where you want the adsense, and you paste the code.

The advertisers bid on the sites and add spots they want to use, therefore it is very important that you have good location, and your site isn't over crowded with ads. You want the advertisers to WANT to be on your page, and its more appealing to be on a quality page with fewer ads for competition. Play around with it, and see what works. If you find your placement isn't working well, change it up a bit.

Two important lines that you should read and remember is:
(1). DO NOT USE ANY OF YOUR CONTENT TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE ADS OR CHANGE THE COLOR SO PEOPLE CAN NOT SEE "ADS BY GOOGLE " TAG.
(2). NEVER ALTER OR EDIT THE CODE GIVEN BY GOOGLE. THIS WILL RESULT IN YOU GETTING BANNED FROM THE PROGRAM

Now, you do not need to care about what ads will come on your site. Google take care of this issue and they will place ads related to your website content so that visitor of your website find ads useful for them.

Step 4: WebMaster Tricks

Now what is this webmaster?
This a helper tool from google which will help you track down your site visitors.

Once your site is approved and your google adsense account is activated, you should register for webmaster and verify it with the webmaster. From your adsense accout, click on the tab RESOURCES, and from there go to the webmaster. Submit your sites web address, URL, and then verify it. Once you submit your site, the next page you will be brought to will have a place to click that says "verify your account" and you will be given 2 options. I have used the meta tag option with all my sites and found that to be the easiest for me. You will be given a code to copy and paste into the HTML of your page. Now, don't get scared because this is allot easier then it seems. Just use your help menus off the site you chose to use for your webpage, and look for the topic verifing with the webmaster. It shoud give you step by step instructions on where you will find the spot to paste your code.

Once this is done, go back to the webmaster and click verify. If you placed it correctly, your account will be verified instantly, however, it will take some time for google to start crawling your site and content.

Adding your Sitemap

After you have verified your web site, you will want to add your sitemaps

What is a SITEMAP?

A site map is a page or pages which lists all or most of the content of yor URLS. Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters, which is you, the website owner, to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling(finding the information on your site and indexing it). In its simplest form, a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.

What Google says about sitemaps

Sitemaps are particularly helpful if:

•Your site has pages that aren’t easily discovered by Googlebot during the crawl process - for example, pages featuring rich AJAX or Flash.
•Your site is new and has few links to it. (Googlebot crawls the web by following links from one page to another, so if your site isn’t well linked, it may be hard for us to discover it.)
•Your site has a large archive of content pages that are not well linked to each other, or are not linked at all.

Step 3: What to do with Google Adsense

Once your web page is set up and has some content on it, sign up with a google account, and go to GOOGLE ADSENSE

Register and submit your URL which is your web address.

Now the main thing is getting accepted with Google Adsense. Nowadays a lot of request are coming to google so they have a bit strict rules while accepting a site. So, make sure that your site / blog have enough content on it. You can play smart here. Putting a lot of content will not help. Try make few neat pages with some good content . Make your site / blog look good. As this process is manual it is not possible to go through all the content of site / blog, what matters is the neatness and how the content clicks to the reviewer.

When you are sure your site / blog is good enough you should apply for google adsense. They have a rule that "your site / blog should be 6 months old before you apply for Adsense". But I have seen a lot of exception (I too am an exception of this rule.Got approval in 3 days.)

They tend to accept blogger sites in faster, so you could do a blogger one to get the ball rolling, and start creating another one from another source. Be sure to read the terms of service, and follow the rules, or they can and will reject you or ban you from the program. As long as you obey the rules, and follow the guidelines, you should be fine.

Once you are approved, your account is activated, and you are ready to start earning.
Basically, what you do is place the ad codes provided by google in various places on your website, and you earn revenue when people click your adds.

Do not try be over smart and do foolish things as:
(1).click yourself on google ads (do not ever do this)
(2).Do not make someone click your ads.
(3).Do not have porno, violent etc things on your site.

Google can catch you however smart you are. Some of the things that I know how do google tracks you are as :-
(1). They keep track of the IP address from which clicks are coming. Now this is not th IP address of your system, but the static IP of your service provider. This means if you share your net with say 5 guys and anyone of them clicks at your ads, they will track you down.

(2).Now as static IP is shared by a lot of guys, to resolve this they check the ratio of the web page visits to the number of clicks on your ads. Google have some band fixed say for every 100 visits a good page will have say 10 clicks. If your site have anything higher than that, they will track you and if it is lower or with in there safe zone , I hope they do not have any problem.

(3).Now to keep your click to page impression ratio low, some of the guys have gone one step further. They keep on visitng their sites and after every 20 visits they click their ads. But Google can still track you by your IP address, source from where your website is opened and lot of things. So never try to be smart than a bunch of smartest guys in world.

IMPORTANT - DO NOT CLICK YOUR OWN ADDS, AND DO NOT ASK OTHERS TO CLICK YOUR ADDS. THIS WILL CAUSE YOU TO GET BANNED FROM THE PROGRAM

Step 2: Things to do before starting earning with blogs/site

The first thing you need to do is to THINK. You have to decide about the topic or subject on which you want to build the website. Few things which you should consider before finalising the topic of your website are:-

(1).Do you have interest in the topic? If you do not have interest in the topic, can you keep working on the website just for money?

(2).Do you have enough knowldege on the topic? If not, can you obtain that from some other source?

(3).Some topics/keywords as hospital, healthcare, adsense, shares, software etc gives high return as compared to others. So this can also effect your decision before finalising the topic.

Crux of all this is , your decison of the topic must be such that you get long term and high return from it. It is like choosing a carrer path after school. So be SMART here.

If you have a good website , you will be ranked higher in search engines and your earning will be higher. If your website is just a copy paste of information , you will not be acceted into the search engines. Make sure you have good content that a reader will want to see. Think of site you enjoy, and put effort into your site and topic if you expect to see results.

Once you have your idea, its time to start bulding you site. There are many free site building tools you can use. Most of them have great help centers and guides to helping you get your page set up as easy as possible.

You can use information you find online, but make sure your content is unique and original, don't just copy and paste other peoples work. Also, if you try and submit a copy site you will get denied. You want to be careful when deciding your topic or niche as the cyber world calls it, as the advertisments for certain topics pay more then others.

Experiment with different templates, colors, fonts, everything. Don't be intimidated, its not as hard as it seems, and use the help centers, they will tell you everything you need to know about designing your page. Remember, have fun with it, and make it unique.

There are many places to start it free. You can start from any of the following :-
www.webs.com
www.blogger.com
www.yola.com

Step 1: Free money online. Work from home and earn money

How can I earn from Home? How can Internet help me in earning? Will I always do a 9-5 job and do what my boss orders? These are the questions that often come to my mind. Being a Software Engineer and working for a start up in mobile application I was drawing a handsome salary. But a 9-5 job was not my cup of tea, so at last I quit and looked for other earning options where I could be my own boss.

After researching countless different "work from home" sites, I found that there is a way that people can make decent money from working at home, working for yourself and without any cost. So the point is “ANYONE can earn money online”. If you are in the same league as of mine than “Do NOT THINK TWICE BEFORE STARTING NOW”

Now the question comes how? And the answer is simple “GOOGLE ADSENSE”

I have done a lot of research and found that online earning can be a good career option if you have a little aptitude to learn. What I have learned so far I have shared all here. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW EASY IT IS!

This is my 4th month in this program and I have been earning USD 5000 pm from my blogs and sites. There are some days when my earning goes above USD 400!! I have collected all this information from internet but it takes a lot of time and skill to pick the correct things, otherwise you will loose a lot of time doing things which do not help a lot. I have researched for 3 months, prior to starting my bolgs and found no place where I can get all the steps to follow for good earnings. If I had got such information at one place, I would have made extra 12,000 USD in 3 months which I wasted in doing research.

So I decided to put all these things together. You can follow these 10 steps and start making money right away.

Remember one thing, in today's world what matters is smart work and not hard work.

Number one thing, ANYONE can do this and you can start right now.

What you need to make this work
1. You must enjoy being on the computer. Amount of money you are going to earn is directly proportional to the time you spend in this program. But the good thing here is, this is not like a job where you get paid until you work. Here once you have created a decent blog / website, you will get paid for it until google gets bankrupt (which is not possible as it looks today). If you are serious about making a good income out of it, you must devote some time to this program regularly. You can slowly pluck away at it on your spare time, but the results will be dramatically
different.

2. You must have a basic understanding of computers. You by in NO means need to be an expert, or know about the Internet. You are can learn everything you need to know online for free, even if you know completely nothing. All you need is a willingness to learn. You control your education level yourself with what you put into learning.

3. You must create a website (don't worry, I'll tell you how, and by the way, its free to). You need to be enthusiastic about your topic. How would you expect anyone to find enthusiasm in your topic if its nothing you care about? Make sure you have interest in your topic.

4. PATIENCE it will take some time for you to start getting allot of quality traffic to your site. Quality traffic = money. Don't expect to be making hundreds of dollars right of the bat. There is a natural growth rate, and its better to allow your site to grow naturally following the steps I provide. As time goes on, your site will grow as well as your revenue. The better your site, the more original your content, and the more work you put in, the faster it will grow
